For Simon Wilby, Technology Must Be Clean

Developing alternative and renewable sources of energy for purposes of technology, or “clean technology,” is something that the CEO of The Smart Power, Inc., Simon Wilby, believes in. Harnessing the as yet underutilized potential of solar energy in providing power to, among others, cell phones — the most widely-used telecommunications tool today is something that Simon Wilby particularly believes in.

Most cell phone users have experienced the frustration of running out of battery power and “The Smart One” is Simon’s Wilby’s response to that. One of The Smart Power, Inc.’s many innovative ideas, The Smart One is a lithium battery which can be charged by using any source of light. Developing and manufacturing solar-powered consumer goods is at the core of The Smart Power, Inc.’s business model.

After the most recent global oil crisis, inventors and entrepreneurs have began exploring the possibilities of clean technology. Since Simon Wilby is both an inventor and an entrepreneur, it was easy for him to understand the growing need for such kind of technology and he was able to respond accordingly. Barbados is the headquarters of Simon Wilby’s company’s operations. Barbados is a perfect location for his company because it is perpetually sun-drenched, which was among the reasons why he decided to establish his company in the Caribbean island.
