Simon Wilby: Inspired by the Sun

When inventor Simon Wilby’s cellular phone died on him during an important call, he turned to a higher power for inspiration and invented The Smart One.

The Smart One is a device for the cellular phone aftermarket which effectively lets any cellular phone charge from available light sources, although nothing quite beats solar power. Simon Willby used the latest in solar cell and battery technology in designing The Smart One so it actually outperforms conventionally powered cell phones by 300 percent in terms of talk time. That’s not all. The Smart One is designed so efficiently that it won’t add any extra bulk to a phone so that consumers can continue using their phone even as it charges from whatever light source is available.

The Smart One was introduced to the world from The Smart Power Inc.’s headquarters in sun drenched Barbados. Simon Wilby has been a frequent visitor to this island nation in the Caribbean since 2007.
