Simon Wilby invention has widespread applications

Simon Wilby invented  The Smart One, an aftermarket product for cellular phones that eliminates the need for conventional chargers. It uses any available light source to charge a Lithium exon battery that actually outperforms conventional cell phone batteries by giving up to 300% more talk time.

The ingenious application of state of the art solar cell technology behind The Smart One’s design is just the tip of the iceberg though. Simon Wilby has already developed a similar application for laptops that does away with the need for conventional chargers and spare batteries once and for all. If you’ve ever watched your battery indicator flash red in the middle of an important presentation with no nearby wall sockets to charge from, you’ll appreciate how valuable this technology is.

Simon Wilby also hopes to see larger scale applications of the technology behind The Smart One. For example, solar powered street lamps might soon replace conventional street lamps, saving millions of dollars annually.
